The brief

Two products, one language

The Great Awakener is a spiritual teacher and content creator with a community built around his teachings. His site needed eight pages: a landing page, a community journal with posts and discussions, classes with enrolment and progress tracking, a video library with playlists and search, testimonials, a shop, a member community and an about page.

Alongside it sat MAX, an AI oracle offered to members as a special feature, with two or three pages of its own. I designed both at the same time, on purpose, so the oracle would feel like part of the community rather than a bolted-on chatbot.

The oracle

Mystical, but never unclear

The risk with a product like this is that the mood swallows the meaning. So MAX runs in a clean, airy light mode. The purple and pink gradients are kept for the mystical elements, and everything you read stays high contrast.

The centrepiece is a Flower of Life drawn in sacred geometry, and it doubles as the status light. It breathes gently while idle, blooms while an answer is coming, and pulses when something goes wrong, so people always know what the oracle is doing. You ask by voice or text, the page shows how many questions you have left today, and past readings sit in a “Your Journey So Far” sidebar.

The system

150+ parts, one set of rules

Underneath both products is one component system: navigation, type, forms, cards, video players, comment sections, shop components and responsive layouts for all eight pages, plus the oracle's own pieces. Every part works in light and dark mode.

The whole system and the page designs were delivered in one week. That only held together because the rules came first: three named colours, one type scale, and components that know their states before they ever reach a page.

Looking back

Give the strange part one job

A spiritual product can carry a lot of atmosphere, and it's tempting to let every screen glow. Here the drama lives in one place, the flower, and that one place also does real work as a status light.

Everything else is ordinary, sturdy product design: clear forms, readable type, honest pricing cards. That's what lets the strange part feel special instead of confusing.
